Full Roof Replacement in Sugar Grove, OH
Challenge
A homeowner with a unique home in Sugar Grove, OH called Klaus Roofing of Ohio because he needed a new roof. Water was leaking onto his stairs and through all of the skylights on the roof. There were also some turrets on the home that would make this roof particularly challenging to replace. We sent out one of our certified inspectors to provide a free estimate for removal and replacement. The owner agreed to have Klaus Roofing do the project.
Solution
Our expert crew went out to the home and removed the old roofing materials, as well as rotting and damaged decking, and replaced it with new underlayment, decking, and shingles. Underlayment is a synthetic plastic layer installed between the roof decking (the bottom layer of the roof typically made of plywood) and the shingles. This provides an extra layer of protection in case the shingles are damaged or blown off by a storm or other situation.
The crew also put new flashing (sheets of metal to divert water away from certain areas) around all the exhaust pipes and, importantly, the skylights. This will ensure the skylights no longer leak. They were also re-sealed during the process of redoing the roof.
The homeowner is satisfied with the work we completed and will not have to worry about water leaking through the roof for years to come.
